This is the format that I hope to use for periodic reports sent by email to Kerie who will post them to my web page. I'm frantically trying to get all last minute tasks completed, as I will be leaving here in an hour, fully loaded, to ride to the Amtrak station in DC, hoping that they have a bike box ready for me to stuff my bike into.
Rode the last training ride with Kerie on Saturday; 85 miles from home to Leesburg on the W&OD trail, then along backroads to Lovettsville, Purcellville, then back to Leesburg. All went well. I've been worried about getting another broken spoke, as the last time I rode with a full load, one of the rear spokes broke. Luckily it was not on the freewheel side. Bill at the Spokes bike shop trued the wheel and I'm hoping for the best.
I plan to post messages periodically, probably once or twice a week, and there will probably be one more message posted before we start riding on Saturday the 18th (it's going to be a long train ride, Tues-Thurs.)
