Daytona Beach to New Smyrna Beach
As we left town the front end of the tandem felt funny; not a good sign. As we waited at the light to cross U.S. Route 1, I realized we had a flat tire. Looking to my left I could see Bob's Bike Shop a couple of doors down. Luckily they were not busy and changed the tube quickly. It was a small, locally owned shop not unlike ours.
Later we walked to the top of the lighthouse at Ponce de Leon Light Station for a great view of the ocean, inlet, and surrounding communities, well worth the $5 admission. The Best Western motel in Edgewater was several miles from dinner at the high school so we strapped on our lights and rode north along quiet Riverside Dr to the school. It rained briefly on the way back.
